Well that sucks! Doesn't look too bad but either way I'd be pissed! When I was working at my first job everyone parked in an employee parking lot when they went to work. One day I came out and just happen to notice that someone opened their door hard enough that it made a mark on my side molding. Scuffed it up a little and I was pissed b/c it did make a dull finish on it that I couldn't rub off. As soon as I got home I took some polishing compound to it and luckily it came right now. I've been lucky enough not to have anyone dent my car *crossesfingers*
As for parking though, I can be a little anal about where I park lol. I try not to park my car anywhere long enough so I only go in, get what I need or want and leave... no wondering around the store. I will park in the farthest possible spot if I feel it's needed. If I'm going to the grocery I analyze the ground to determine where and how the carts, aka buggies for people in the south

, will roll when they're let loose. I always try to park next to a concrete island for protection and generally try to get as close as a good inch or two it just to get more buffer space between me and other car just incase someone should park next to me.. At night I try not to get too far away though since it makes my car an easy target to get broken into if it's in the dark. Typically no one parks next to me whenever I park far enough away, generally b/c usually I'm so far away you'd perfer a shuttle bus to get to the door instead of walking. Who else in their right mind is going to park out that far with me haha. Also, I try to never use two spaces since the makes your car stand out more in a crowd of cars. Plus people generally associate that with you thinking your car is better than theirs for needing TWO spots so they'll be more likely do cause damage just out of spite lol. Maybe I think about this too much sometimes
