Anyone have a really good setup for higher speeds?
Well guys, I'm sure most of you enjoy the same thing I do. I love throwing the car through the corners at higher speeds. The 2" drop, the 225/35/18's, and the front strut tower bar make the car hold the road fairly well, but I'm looking for more improvement.
There's a section of road for about 5 miles with nice flowing corners that I like to run through, some corners you can take 110+, some you can only take around 90+. I know theres a limit to which the car is going to feel stable through the turns, but I'd like to make the car feel safer through the harder corners at medium - higher speeds. I would also like to stiffen things up down the straight-aways.
Does anyone have any good suggestions for a good setup? I'm planning putting Tokico blue struts on in the spring. Maybe lower sway bars or rear strut tower bar to stiffen things up even more?

Forget the Tokicos, go with Konis. I have Konis right now with Mopar springs, but they feel pretty soft even at full stiff (though a LOT stiffer than stock struts). Hopfully by summer time Ill have Ground Controls with around 500/450lbs springs.

I think what he means is Wider than stock 15" rims. This will just allow you continue running the same width tire just put some performance back in towards your motor. Konis, I think are about 600 bones.
You definitely want to add a rear swaybar to this for that kind of performance.
What are your spring rates. Should be more in front for street car and even to more in rear for racing. You also will want Polyurethane bushings for deflection control and get your alignment set with some front and rear camber and neutral toe. Tow out at high speed is not to good makes you wander.

Yea, Konis are $600-750. Depending on where you get them. Expensive, but worth it. And theyre rebuildable and customizable.

ouch! I don't think I can pull the 600-700 for those struts. I think I'll just go with the tociko's in the spring. How much negative camber are we talkin, like 1 degree front and rear? I still haven't had an alignment since I lowered my car, I'm waiting until spring when I put on the new struts and put the 18's back on. I'm not sure what the spring rate is on my springs, I'm gonna try to look that up now.

I have -3 degrees if camber in the front and -1.5 in the rear. It does wear the inside edge of the front tires rather quickly though. But it handles nicely.
