AEM Bypass Valve fitment on MPx 60mm Throttle Body - HELP

Post by tamadrumr88 » Mon Jan 17, 2005 10:20 am

what do i have to do to get the bypass valve to fit over the inlet side of the 60mm throttle body, the t/b flange looks a few mm larger than the inside of the bypass valve. im kinda afraid to break the bypass valve since the filter area seems flimsy.... what should i do or what modifications (other than cutting the intake pipe to account for the new bypass valve) need to be done get this to fit??

(bypass valve will rest on t'b but it wont slide over)

(bypass valve opening is a bit smaller then t/b inlet)

Stretch the rubber coupler over it. The AEM couplers are a very tight fit over the MPx TB so it will take some force to get it on.

actually no, i just removed the inner liner, put it over the tb and then slid the rest of the bypass valve on and pushed from the inside of the tb and it took about 15mins of "persuading" it to move... haha anyway its on so ill plan the install for sometime this week(end).... what all needs to be done to install the intake.... jack the car up? take the front driver-side rim off? cuz it would be great if that didnt needed to be done but i think it does so yeah.... anyway thanks
