Board colors

Post by quicksilvr » Mon Nov 06, 2006 10:38 pm

I have mine set to subsilver, because it's easier on my eyes. The black is much cooler though...for what it's worth. Anyway. I have to change the color of my screen to the dark in order to be able to read any 2gn OTM posts, and especially the 2gn 2007 meet thread. Is there any way to make the other colors of text besides white and black invert depending on which board style you use? I'd just like to be able to read those threads without switching to smartdark. Thanky for any imput. 8)

As it is right now I can't do that to have it swap colors but I can ask Mike to edit his post to make the colors a little more readable for those on the subSilver theme.

Until he does that what you can do is just highlight the text that you can not see and it should appear then.

I'll let Mike know about this so he can modify his post though :)

What!?!!?! You want me to move my finger that much more to highlight stuff!  J/K, It's not that big of a deal, just the 2gn 2006 and 2007 info pages are difficult. If he changes them, that's fine. If not, no biggy.

Bah... you mean I didn't have to let him know.... UGH... I went through all that work to PM him for nothing... Psssh... forget you then!

J/k hahaha... he'll take care of it next time he gets on ;-) Shouldn't be a problem... I'd do it but he's the guy over it all so it's probably best he does it lol.

Oh poo. Sorry about that. I forget that people use that ugly SubSilver theme.

I removed the white text (or at least the more important white text). I was just trying to make the post look more pretty. :sad7:

Hey, new idea. Can we get some more choices for board themes? One that caught my attention was the brown one from http://specter24.proboards44.com/index.cgi. Not that that one is perfect, but I like it...the contrast isn't too hard on my eyes. Is there any way to get peoples input on what they'd like to have, and then add maybe 2 or 3 more color themes to choose from?

At this point in time I really can't do it due to the mods that are installed on the forum. Most of the modifications require editing the files for each of the themes so if I were to put a new theme in I'd have to go in and figure what mods would be missing and add the code in for the new themes. It's not impossible to do but considering all the mods and making sure I get all of them installed into the new theme, it could get rather involved. Plus I have a short feeling phpBB3 will be out possibly within the next 6 months or so I hope so the forum may get upgraded to that provided the release doesn't show to have a whole lot of bugs. It also may go toward vBullitien since there are quite a few nice features about it so I haven't decided on that yet...

:salute: Roger that.

I didn't realize that mods wouldn't carry over, interesting.

Yah, it'd require a lot of edit. I mean I could put in new themes but things like the garage links, birthday, things of that nature wouldn't display.

Yeah, most of the phpBB add-ons revolve around the theme that's installed on your forums... Which sucks. Each theme that you'd install, you'd have to re-install Jason's 46,273 add-ons that he has integrated.
