is this normal?

Post by TNK » Wed Jan 19, 2005 5:29 am

if it's slick out, and i fuck around a bit, and start spinning the tires.. if they spin for too long, and the rpms climb up around like 3k or so..... the car will start to kinda stutter and shiver really bad, the rpms will drop and it feel liek teh car is gonna die, then i let off and it's fiune... is this normal? could it have something to do with not having the fender guard in protecting the crank pulley, or in my case UDP?

Why wouldn't you replace the fender guard?

If you were getting the pulley/belts wet you'd hear bad squealing.

I think it has to do something with you having an ATX.

read your owners manual, i know when i was browsing mine one day due to boredom, there was a notation in it regarding the maximum speed at which your allowed to spin the tires without damage, it was worded funny but it stated a limit that you shouldnt exceed.

thanks for the help guys. it's not the mounts, because i have solid lower and upper mounts (courtesy of steelybob) i may end up tossing the fender guard back in. i do get the squealing belts problem when i go through puddles and such...
