How hard was it for the clutch install? What tools are a must? And how long did it take. I keep avoiding installing my spec because it looks like that job sucks.

Ugh, I'm gonna have to do that some time next summer. I've got a leak (probably rear main) and my throwout bearing is noisy for the first few minutes after starting when it's cold out.

Clutch (suspected to be original) is still good :D

Man, how do you need a new clutch on an 04 already?

^^^ Must be

Looks worse than it really is. Stuff like that looks intimidating, but really it's not too bad. More time consuming than anything.

Dude, from day 1, I have always been a fan of the combination of the SRT front with the stock SXT wing. I love when people switch out true SRT-4's to the SXT wing and leave everything else alone.

Oh yeah, clutch jobs rule. I've never done one on the Neon, but the turbo Dodge's looked so much worse than they actually were.

^yup.

those wheels came off the wifeys car actually. one of these days ill get my buddy to wash that damn car and get soem pics with it.

the clutch job and header/punched cat install took 10 hours.. but taht was with a lot of fucking around and beer drinking adn lunch and yeah... i wouldnt suggest it for a first timer, my buddy knew wtf he was doing so i was comfortable turning wrenches, but alone, no effing way woudl i have done it. it was all that hard, jsut had to remember where bolts went. lots of time obviously....

why i had to do a clutch. the previous owner mustvebeat on that clutch/rode it alot... cuz i only had it a fewmontshand it was toast, not sayign i was the kindest person to it, but its got 54k on teh car..... i put about 6k on the car since i bougth it....

Yeah i changed a clutch out in the rain it was no fun. Took about 5hrs. For a newb i guess it wasn't that bad. Also did the CAI too. It went quicker after i bought an impact wrench.

just a tip for newbies doing a clutch...
you do not need to remove the axels from the car. Just unbolt the 2 bolts that hold the axle to the suspention... you don't mess up you alignment that way and makes it easier to change. no need to remove the caliper ao any other junk. It takes about 3-4 hrs for a clutch job. in a driveway with no power tools. hardest part is lifting the tranny off the ground and lining it up on the clutch.

Murph

car is looking good man.
