Problems after a Mag intake install :\

Post by MrPinkles » Mon Nov 20, 2006 10:06 am

got the mag intake installed last night... didnt have too many issues with the install. only thing is my pcv valve tubing barely runs to the new intake, will have to buy a longer peice.

went to start up the car and it acted like i had the the gas all the way to the floor (instant 3k rmps and climbing  )

I took a look at the throttle cables and didnt see anything apparent. but it was pretty dark at the time. this morning im going to take out my filter and check the TB and see what position its in.

I did have to move around the throttle cable some with the install but its currently not pinched..

what could I have done .. stretched the cable??

I rechecked all the sensors and they appear to be plugged in.

is there an idle adjuster screw? at this point i dont think it is this buy i may have to play with it eventually

i want to say its the tube that isnt connected that is causing your problems

i had the same problem with my grand am...when i was driving i wouldnt have to press the gas to go...it would automatically go for me

Had the same problem when I first put on a high flow air filter. And then again because the throttle cam got stuck on one of the screws holding the throttle body to the airbox. So you put the intake on after all? Did you get an RPM switch for it yet?
