when you take it off what should I use to fill the holes left from the bolts?

body filler is what most use, or just get rubber plugs to put in there.....what color is your car?

i bought plugs at discount auto parts. 3/8's inch plugs. they fit snugly. but before pushing them in, paint them. Super Red II from discount auto parts is a VERY close color match. and also buy some clear silicone, and put some around the base of the plug so you dont get leaks.

If your looking at the proper way to do it. Sand it down, weld the holes shut, grind the welds, body filler, primer, than repaint whole trunk.

On my old Neon I just used the push pins that are uesd in the trunk to keep the carpet held down. I colour matched the tops with touch up paint pushed them in and siliconed the bottom. It worked great and was a good temporay fix till I got another lid with no holes form the scrap yard.
