2GN.org Internet Radio

Last day of streaming will be January 14th.

Since the station is fairly well established now and most of the bugs have been ironed out, I'm making an official thread for it.

2GN Radio is an internet radio station that I've put together for the 2GN.org community. As we start recruiting more DJs, we'll be able to have to DJ's put together special shows and talk about whatever they want - Whether it pertains to Neons or DCx, car performance, etc... Basically whatever they feel like having a show about. I try my best to keep the station up 24 hours a day, but sometimes it's impossible. As we get more DJ's, it'll be much easier to keep the station up 24/7 because it won't be up to one person.

Also, keep in mind that the station is currently financially supported by me and me only, so any donations would be greatly appreciated.

Click here to tune in --> http://grace.fast-serv.com:9906/listen.pls
(You must have Winamp installed in order to 'Tune in.' But don't worry, it's FREE!)

We're currently looking for on-air DJ's! Do you have what it takes? Here's what we're looking for in a DJ:
* You must be an outgoing individual that's not afraid of talking on the radio station.
* You must have a microphone for your PC.
* You must connect to the internet via a high speed connection. (i.e. Cable, T1, etc...)
* You should have at least 200 songs in your music library.
* You should always be on-time for your show.
* You must have a good time DJ'ing!

If you're interested in DJ'ing for 2GN Radio, please PM me!

Well, we're coming to a point to where I'm thinking about cancelling the stream subscription - For a couple reasons...

1. Lack of support / listeners - And I'm not upset about this, either. I set it up to test the waters and see if it would be a hit and it's appearing that it's not.

2. Scheduled DJ's not making their shows - Again, not a huge deal and I'm not mad at anyone. I'm to blame for this, too, since we've had a couple DJ's interested in DJ'ing and I've been quite busy to help them get set up and acquainted with the DJ software.

3. Lack of financial support - As you guys may know, I recently purchased a house and I'm trying to eliminate any unnecessary bills. If we can get more support, maybe some can help donate some money to keep the stream up - If not, it's no big thing, but I cannot guarantee how much longer the station will remain online.

If we can turn this around and get some mad support for it and maintain a certain listener base, since I'm moving into a new house with MUCH more room, I'm willing to setup a separate PC to constantly stream music for the station and it'll be more likely to stay online 24 hours a day.

Along the lines of interested potential DJ's that need help setting up software, I'm going to be quite busy with the moving to the new house, etc, so I'd like to see if someone that's familiar with the software can help setup new DJ's and get them ready to go.

I'm also still accepting donations for the stream. PayPal donations can be sent to radio@2GN.org.

Thanks everyone!

I don't know that it will guys... seems like it's dead forever. Atleast unless we can somehow get more support for it...

Yeah, there are currently no plans of bringing back 2GN Radio. It was a great idea and I had fun doing it, but I'm no longer in a position where I can afford the expenses on my own to run the station.

At first, everyone seemed to be all for it, but once it got running, the support went down the tubes and I think our record amount of listeners at one time was 3.

It's been replaced with 88.9 The Buzz. Another internet radio station that I'm operating... I actually have a second machine dedicated to streaming 24/7.

Maybe we should do some podcasts or whatever they are called. I'm certainly not hip with all the new lingo, but that's what it's called when you record a program for people to download and listen to, right?
