small black plug on back of factory unit ???

Post by badgett » Tue Dec 26, 2006 4:13 pm

I put an aftermarket head unit in my 2000 and I noticed the small plug that just clips to the back of the factory unit. Do I need to use it for a ground ? My unit is blinking with the bass.

Small black plug? If it was round it sounds like your antenna ;-)

Did the port that the plug was connected to look like the "Radio Antenna Connector" or something else?

Its the ground wire. You have to cut it and run the ground from your new head unit to it. It confused me at first when i did my boys car but thats what you do.
