SRT4 Guages in Dodge Neon SXT?
Is it possible to just get a srt4 guage cluster and just slip it into my 2002 sxt if I was thinking of turbo-ing my auto neon. I understand the mileage will more than likely be off, but would it just be a plug and play application? Thank you.

thats what i did with mine, but im still gettin a brick wall the couple times i went to possibly trade in. they keep trying to lowball me with a TMU penalty even though i know the exact mileage..scneonchic wrote:if you do it, keep track of your milage at the swap and whats on the new cluster. Its what I did w/ mine when I swapped in another cluster w/ a tach to keep up w/ the actual miles on the car.

no offense, but how many times is this question going to be asked? I believe there is a sticky even somewhere about it... please, use search (hate to sound like the OTHER dot-org, but...) to be nice about it and add something to the post -
yes, plug and play... check with your local dmv, there is something that you can get which can track the milage - like when a cluster fails, etc, that way you do not get stuck with some sort of penalty if you trade the car, etc.

I wish I had an extra cluster to mess around with because I still want to see if there's something that can be internally swapped to be able to retain the correct mileage. So many people have asked this question and it's the same issue every time: mileage will be wrong. If it's not stored in the PCM, then it's in the cluster. There's only so much inside a cluster.

The milage is actually independently stored in both the cluster and the PCM. When you change the cluster the original milage is still in the PCM, and it can be retrieved via the OBD port.If it's not stored in the PCM, then it's in the cluster. There's only so much inside a cluster.
The milage in the cluster is stored in an "EPROM" type format, and can only be changed if you have the proper programming hardware.
If you have done a cluster swap and are still concerned about the milage display (for resale purposes), pretty much the only thing to do is take it to a dealer and have them send it off to get reprogrammed.
