RAZR OWNERS
I just got a razr v3m.
I see that it has a slot for a MicroSD card.
Is it possible to transfer music from my computer to the razr and then use that music for ringtones?

did your phone come with a computer program disk?
i have a t-mobile slider with a music player and the SD card. i took the song i wanted, created a 30 second clip and then changed the format to .3gp so that it would play. i haven't done it in awhile, i'll have to dig up more info on that. there are forums out there as well that talk more about these things.

i have a Samsung phone that has a SD slot...so i download music from limewire..then i use an audio cutter called "Power MP3 Cutter Joiner" which is a free tool u can download online..just google it.
for a ringtone make sure the song is less then 30 seconds long.
Now just copy and paste the song into your SD disk.
Boom free ringtone.
i have 70 some ringtones all for free.

awesome
i did some searching around the web and figured out that i needed some sort of converter. then i was seeing that they would cost ~$30 minimum. i have 8.4gb of music on itunes, thats a lot of ringtones.
ill be getting two microsd cards (one for me and one for my fiance) for $10 each. and then ill be in ringtone heaven, lol.
thanks
edit: i thought the tones needed to be in MIDI format, thats what i read on a phone forum.

upgrade the firmware on your phone or better yet, take it back to whichever carrirer you have it under. tell them you know someone that works for another t-mobile, verizon, spring or whatever carrier you have and they told you that theres an update for your phone. Most of them would do it for free. If they dont want to do it for free threaten to stop using their service because your phone simply not working as it should. There has been quite a few updates quietly released by Motorola for the razr.Neonix wrote:Blah. I hate my razor phone. Everytime I answer a call there's dead air, but the other person can hear me. During a call it does the same thing, when I make a call...same thing.
I'm sick to death of this phone, but don't want to pay a ton of money to get something different.
There are a few free converters out there for ringtones. Most of them are simply using the lame encoder to get things done. Most of the new moto phones can accept any kind of mp3 ringtone. Search around some of the razr boards. Probably my favorite moto board is modmymoto http://www.modmymoto.com they have an area dedicated to CMDA razr phones like the v3m you haveracer12306 wrote:awesome

If you have tons of songs that you legally purchaed via itunes, you are going to have some small problems converting them for ringtone use.

screw all these tools... just use bluetooth to connect and bitpim to upload music, videos, wallpaper, all that good shiznit.
Me, personally, I get a new every 2 on the 16th. I'm getting the LG VX8600. Screw the razr. I've heard to many bad things.
That, and I have a freaking 80gb MP3 player. Who needs there phone to be a MP3 player?

*screaching halt* Do not buy moto-phone tools if you have verizon service. You have to buy the verizon version of this because you will not be able to use all the features, just an fyi.
