Size of Throttlebodies

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

no gain?

Post by SiberianNeon0 » Wed Jan 03, 2007 7:48 pm

So obviously, there would be no gains from swapping out the TBs?

ditto

You'll only gain roughly 3whp with a TB but the throttle response is very nice!

Seriously?

Post by SiberianNeon0 » Wed Jan 03, 2007 10:58 pm

I have bolt-ons...what do you mean by "serious" mods?

I have:
headers, muffler, underdrive pulley, plugs/wires, & short ram intake

Would you say I should get one off of Modern Performance or Howell?

I'd go with the MPx but by serious mods he would mean things like a different cam, valves, ported head, turbo or N/A build... things that you just don't buy off the shelf and stick on in an hour or two. Follow me?

Also look at the Zzapp one. They are the same as the MPx one but without the modern logo inside the butterfly

waste?

Post by SiberianNeon0 » Fri Jan 05, 2007 12:48 pm

I have a R/T cam with the new valvesprings too...

But I guess I don't have serious mods...maybe this would be a waste?

I would get it for throttle response. I can cruise at 55mph with my foot just literally resting on the pedal. I think that the stockers on the 2gn are 52 or 53mm i know the 1st gens are 49 for a mtx and 52 or 53mm for an atx, but all 2gns are the same.
