SUBJECT:

TECH-TIPS #05 – SUNROOF VENTS BUT WILL NOT OPEN/CLOSE / 2000–05 NEON/SRT4

Technical Service Bulletin 23-049-04 Rev. A involves disassembling and reassembling the sunroof mechanism and possibly replacing the locker slide(s). This condition occurs after the sunroof has been operated at fast highway speeds which applies force to the sunroof mechanism and causes to go "over-center" and bind usually one or both sides.
Please be certain to caution owner's of subject vehicles that the SUNROOF SHOULD NOT BE OPERATED ABOVE VEHICLE SPEEDS OF 110 KPH BECAUSE IT MAY JAM THE SUNROOF MECHANISM.

Mine must be a trooper. I could swear I've had my car running at 65-70 with it open several times. I don't remember the dealer saying anything about it. Still works as far as I can tell.
