How many deaths were caused by your snowstorm?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11281267

How many people were permanetly displaced by your snowstorm?

How can you logically compare the snowstorm to Katrina? Yes, the snowstorm was drastic and is/did cause alot of problems, but I don't think it's on the same scale.

That's stupid just like all of the other e-mails people forward non-stop.

You can't compare a snowstorm to Hurricane Katrina.

god, washington is a lucky state. yeah, we got snow, but we dont get that much where i am, we dont have hurricanes, or tornadoes (if we do, its RARELY and they are small), earthquakes once in a blue moon, but once again, not where i am, the only thing we have to worry about is the volcanoes, but how often do they blow? and once again, im not near any of those. the only thing i really have to worry about is man made, and it's called "UMATILLA". oh, and hanford too, those are both like 45 minutes from me. (but umatills has a pretty good strip club)

Intersting.

I thought the Gov. is helping -- dropping hay from military helicopters? Or was that in Western KS?

Unless you've witnessed/lived both extremes, you can't compare the 2. I grew up in ND. We typically had snowbanks as high as our garage -- which staid all winter. I remember being w/o power for days, sleeping by the fireplace, having to go 'potty' in the outhouse, rescuing stranded motorists in our snowmobile, etc. However, I have never experience a hurrincane, so i can't compare the 2. Times/weather has changed. Global warming? Who knows?

 you call that extreme? go to the Navajo reservation, almost half live with no electricity which means you gotta build a fire if your cold, or if you want some warm water or if your hungry and if you want to read bust out the lamp/candles/coleman. if your thirsty you can pull some water from the barrels that you spent all day hauling from the water stations becuase you cant drink the water at the windmills becuase a majority of them are contaminated by uruanimum mining companys dumping waste in the underground rivers. and if your hungry you better drive a couple hours to the grocery store and stock up on nonperishables unless its winter and you can then dig a hole in the ground and snowpack them. And if your in the high minority and secured a job get up at 3am to report at 6am then get off around 230pm and make it home by 530-6pm everyday for $7-$13/hr every single fukin day... thanks for letting me scratch the surface 8) if you want to whine then dont preach to the choir ;)

You can't compare disasters and hardships unless you've been through every disaster and every hardship situation known to man, and so has everyone else. That will never happen.

Each and every one is horrible in their own way.

Well I was out in Steamboat skiing (much better than snowboarding :) )

It started snowing on the 4th and didn't stop until we left on the 7th. The passes were closed and when they opened the chain law was activated. Sucked driving out of Colorado; it took about 9 hours.

As for the skiing it was awesome powder.

I just have to say good luck with the cattle and the avalanches!
