So, What kind of wash and Wax do you use???

Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

hey Diablo,

Have you tried zymol? My understanding is that is what they use out the factory from mercedes because they have finicky paint jobs. It's supposed to work really well on darker cars.

I always thought Zymol was a BMW specific wax. I don't see why it would be any different with Mercedes paints. I use it on my truck, leaves such a slippery surface a towel will slide off the hood. Unbelievable stuff till you try it, very expensive shit.

Could be BMW, I know it's one of the two. and hell yes..verrry nice product.
I think over all the best product I use is the clay bar. You can definetly tell a difference from where it has been used and hasn't been used. My favorite thing to do when I'm having a buddy over and trying to educate them is have them put a plastic bag over their hand and run it over their car before the clay bar and then have them do it again afterwards. It's really disgusting to feel all the junk that is built up. I've also found it helpful to use a two different types of towels to remove the wax. I use a corser variety with ribs to take off the majority of the wax and then use a microfiber towel to finish. I much prefer to do it all by hand than with a machine but thats just me...

I use Meguiar's Gold Class and Microfiber towels. Works good for me. I never liked Zymol.

Since I've been back, I've been mixing it up... I'm using Meguar's NXT car wash, Turtle Wax Color Cure wax, and Turtle wax Platinum detail spray. It all works pretty well.

Meguires Gold Glass shampoo and Liquid Glass polish. Mirror shine can't tell where the glass ends and the paint begins..I love it. But it's extremely expensive and very hard to find, have to order it this time around from the website.
