Those of you with EGay mirrors

Post by glasswars » Mon Jan 15, 2007 6:06 pm

Do they come up with the wiring for the power motor? Or can you use the stock ones? And does it come with wire to run to the turn signal?

are you talking about the power m3 mirrors w/ turn signals?

I have the regular, manual m3s so I cant help you w/ the power options.

I didnt have the manual m3s w/ the turn signals a few years ago ( I feel old saying that LMAO) and it did come w/ the wiring for the turn signals.

i have the power M3's, and they only have 3 wires, your stock power mirrors have 4. i read on the .org how to wire them. i can rip the pannel offtorrow and tell you. all i know is that they work, but not at all like stock, and everything is inverted... i can also try to figure out what wires i tapped into to make them blink w/ your turns... i'll try to find out, and let you know tomorrow

thanks man, form over function, cuz they suck to see out of.
when you get them painted to match the car, they look way better
here's my car, back in 05, without them painted

painted them, in my eyes, make a huge difference... but then again, so does painted your OEM ones

ya i have my m3s paint matched too....they do take some getting used to to see out of....but as for the wiring.....some neons have 3...the 4 wires is only if you had heated mirrors...which i didnt so i had 3 wires....also running the turn signals sucks...after i did it i figured out it would be much easier to run it over the dash under the cover....take the top cover off and run the wire through there....easier than trying to fish it through under the dash....but getting the wires into the door is the hardest part

you can make them work (the power ones). i cut the plug from the stock ones and just hooked the wires up to the motor. it was trial and error until i got them to work right.

I've often wondered if the Chrysler 300M Special mirrors with the repeater turn signals would fit on a Neon.

well after i took the panel off today, i realized that there are only 3 wires for my mirrors... lol that would have been funny if they were heated tho, everytime you would hit your defrost or whatever your turn signals would come on or the motor would go crazy, lol

but heres what i have on the drivers side, not sure if its the same on the other side

YOUR CAR M3's
White/yellow: White
White/black: Black
Yellow: Red

hope that helped, sorry about the missinformation about having 4 wires

THIS is what I want to do, BUT I suck at painting, I really do NOT want to screw this up, so... do you have tips, or instructions, step by step etc that you could maybe pass on to us n00b painters??? Hell, I even thought about removing them and asking someone in town to paint em for me  but thats a little too mucho

its really easy....if your that scared about it get some extra stockers from the junkyard to practice on first.....its easier with em off the car, but harder to get a perfect match that way....

if your doing this on your car tape surrounding areas off first so you dont accidentally sand and paint

first wire brush em to get some roughness to it

then wipe em down real good with rubbing alcohol

then sand it down nice and smooth with like a 150 grit paper

rewire brush and rubbing alcohol

then primer, base, clear.....

remember the first coat should be very light and dusty....then add more light coats....lots of light coats is much better than one dark coat....especially for base....you can always add a coat, but if you go to dark you gotta start over....then clear till it matches and your done

yes, has anyone??

ive noticed this myself, those special 300M's mirrors look so much like our mirrors. they would be so clean if they worked.
