Hi
ok im new here and did a lot of reading so sorry if this has been covered. If everthing goes as planned i will have a 05 srt acr wrecked on the side to put into my 05 sxt. my car has 40k and the other car has 15k. i was going to just drop the whole subframes and swap that way and im doing the suspension and brakes. i was wondering if i need to do the body harness? and can i take the ign switch out of the acr so i dont have to mess with that stupid security issue? also are there any manuals for these cars? ive been a mechanic for a while and done my share of swaps but not like this so im kinda blind. I will find out in a week or so if im getting the donar car. thanks for any help.

you should look for a 2005 factory service manual. a lot of times you can find them on ebay.
if you go there right now and search neon service manual there are a few for dirt cheap

you shouldnt need to swap out the body harness since you have a 05. just all engine and engine bay harness. and you can also switch out the ignition cylinder to use the srt key and also all sentry key stuff from the srt to go with it so it will start up. diablo0 did it that way and it works good for him

no you dont need to do any of that. just plug it up and go. the 03+ dash harness is pretty much same as the srt one. only pre 03 models needed to do that so the turn signal would work.boostedsxt wrote:so as ive been reading i just need to swap a pin in the connector on the fire wall to plug in my srt harness move #4 to #5 location right? Im also pretty sure i need to swap over the speedo cable right?

I'd probably suggest an 03+ base as it requires less work to do the swap.
And brand new an '05 FSM is $140+shipping from www.techauthority.com
