UDP a good idea?

Post by boostinss » Mon Jan 22, 2007 12:33 pm

I was thinking about getting a UDP because i heard it makes your neon a lot more fun to drive. Can you really tell a difference?

The problem that i may have though is that with my stock pulley when my subs are on my headlights dim every time they hit.

so would getting a different pulley make my lights dim even more?

i know this goes more into audio, but i have heard capacitors are damn near worthless. im not saying they are, thats just what i heard.

you can get the pt alternator. i just saw a thread about it very recently, don't remember where. i know BRR posted it.

Lie.... Capacitors are good for stereo use, but not for trying to supply juice to your whole car.

95 degrees during the summer here in MA and my A/C freezes my nips off upon command. I've been running an Unorthodox UDP for almost 40k miles now.

i would suggest you get a volt gauge along with the UDP  not that you need it, but it helps with peace of mind :D

I can tell you with my volt guage and a red top with my UR upd, I run at 14.5v while cruising, and about 14v on idle.

12.5-14.5 with engine on.

below 12 and you are looking at possible problems, especially if it still falls. Even with my lights on, heater on, ac pump moving, and stereo stuff going, it still nevers drops below 13 when not moving.

100,000 miles with UDP no issue other then a recent squeak but I'm lazy so I haven't actually gotten under the car yet.

I'd still like to know why the hell the alt under the freaking car.(this where I need to check to see if its where my squeak is coming from.

The alternator is not underneath the car, its on the pas side behind the head...
