Sourcing a Donor Car

Doing a SRT-4 Motor swap into your Neon, maybe even a 2.4... have questions about it, what you'll need or what issues you'll run into? Answers can be found in here.

Sourcing a Donor Car

Post by Young Gunna » Sat Jan 27, 2007 10:09 am

Hey Guys i have been planning the swap for a while now, just waiting for some warmer weather. You guys a have a sick knowledge base here as far as SRT transplants go 8) . Canuk2k, I'm in the Mississauga area we might have met before.

So either way my question is related to sourcing the parts for the swap. For some reason i highly doubt i would be able to find a complete donor car :x . That would make life a lot easier. Instead i will attempt to find all the individual parts. My question is, Where can i look for Srt donor cars or even just the engines aside from the neon boards. Also whats the ballpark figure for everything as far as parts?

I was thinking of using the old 2.4L (pre 02) but i think it would be pointless unless the bottom would be built and if i was doing that i might as well build the 2.0. Either ay Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

or you
could always grab a 2.4L out of a stratus or a breeze and build it your self

buy the whole car, you need the clutch set, vac lines, clutch master, lots of little stuff that will cost you more individulaly.
You also can use the srt key/skim and pcm, so you dont have to deal with dealers and the drb. Most dealers dont know shit...
There are wrecked ones on ebay all the time....
