shifter lights
my neon is automatic and i want to chance the shifter lights ( the ones that say P R N D 2 1) to blue ones instead of the green. just like the blue gauges and hvac controls that a lot of ppl have done. has anyone done this? what do i need to do this? a how-to would be awesome.

Do you have to take the entire console out or does that trim ring pull up or something? I've been wanting to do this for... (looks up old thread..) almost a year.
Hmm.... I've still got some 194 leds from the guages...

In the defroster switch, the illumination is the same type of bulb that's used behind the HVAC controls. The indicator light is a 3mm LED. I have both of mine swapped to blue.[DJ]Tomski wrote:it's just one bulb that lights the whole row?
also, has anyone replaced their defroster switch light. is that possible? if ya, then how?

Yea... you just need to move the wires out of the way so you can cut the base off... better yet... look at the pic..

Thats what you need to remove so it can be stook inside the stock housing...
Other option: see if Vamp can see you just the HVAC lighting... I bought the whole kit but I keep on breaking of the leeds on them.. He's located in the Vender threads..

Yeah, or you could use these. They drop right in.

Talk to 'alsey_seven'. He just put these in his HVAC controls and they look pretty good. Again, the same bulb will work for your defroster switch.

You'll need 3 for the HVAC and 1 for the defroster. If you look on one side of the switch, you'll see where the bulb is. It's just a round base with a slot in the middle of it. Turn it counter-clockwise to get it out.
