Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

Sorry, but I've never liked the SRT-D front. But to each his own. Like everyone always says, if you love it, that's all that matters.

To me there are huge differences between the SRT-D bumper and SRT-4 bumper.

ok. here's how it lays out for me....

02 R/T = SRT-4 > 03+ w/ lip = 02 > 00-01 > SRT-D

= equals a tie/toss up

I could never find one in a junkyard or on the boards. The one I had was bought from Modern. That was the only thing I hated about going to the cf trunk.

your know your an exception gramps..

it's ussaly just people who havn't ever.. owned a neon prior.. and fell for the marketing ploy that dodge put out to seperate the neon name from the Srt-4..

it worked so well, that first time neon drivers that are lucky enough to get the turboed one, denounce the neon name.. and are jerks to everyone who drives the "lesser" of the two.

:offtopic: Yeah, I'll never forgive DCX for not honoring the SRT-4's Neon heritage. Exactly why I wouldn't buy a "Caliber SRT-4" (if one ever makes it to market)- the Neon SRT-4 is the only SRT-4.

i actually have the misconception front bumper sitting in my back yard. The original owner went off to secure guantanamo bay (dismp) and one of his so called "friends" basically took the bumper from him even though he was supposed to ship it to me as a favor for dismp.

To make a long story short this "friend" put it on his car and ghetto chopped the front to accomidate the 00-02 headlights. I had to do quite a bit of work in order to get this thing back into decent shape. It took me about a week to realize what he did. He claimed the two sides where the blinkers go were cracked due to the fact that the bumper just didnt fit well.

anyways, It is entirely possible to modify the misconception bumper to allow the use of the 00-02 headlights.

I know what you mean! When I go to a meet & everybody is jokin on a guy that owns a N/A Neon I just wanna smack the $#!* outta them. I know my Neon heretige I've owned both an SXT & a SRT. Yes they are very different but, they're still Neons. I like that photochop you get the best of both worlds with that facia. I also like the one nostril look but, don't wanna overheat.

hmmm.. i'd like to think that the one nostril probably has as much surface area as both the cutout on the srt-4.. if not really close too being the same surface area.

But omg.. that 2k2 srt-4 mix is like.. my new favorite (concept... if you will) bumper i've seen.. Thats freaking hott...

lol, but i still love my SRT-D front fascia, though what i wouldn't do for the 02 r/t....

I think by the one nostril look he was refering to an old photoshop that someone actually made into reality. It started as an SRT-4 front and turned into something rather Mugen RSX looking, it actually looks really good IMO. I'll try to dig up some pics from the SRTforums when I get a chance, their forums don't seem to be working for me right now.

Interesting, but I was hoping to see someone just remove the middle part of the nostrils to make one, then put something like a black grille across it.
