alarm system

Post by 05NeonSE » Mon Feb 05, 2007 9:21 pm

so i have a completely standard neon Lol no power locks, windows, sunroof, or trunk release button for that matter. but i want to get something that will automatically unlock my front doors at the push of a button. it doesnt need to be an alarm. could i be talking about keyless entry? or whats out there that will get the job done?

It's not so easy. On a non PDL/PW Neon the dashboard wiring harness doesn't come with the wiring for the power stuff. You either need to do a bunch of custom wiring or change the dashboard harness. Hardly impossible, but not PnP.

get a keyless entry system from any reputable car stereo store. They will know everything you need, and usually costs less than $100 for installation and parts. OR, if you are mechanically/electrically inclined, you can do it yourself for half that.

There is a post in the "how-to" forum in here that a guy added it to his car, just got the harness and ran everything. It worked out rather well for him. It was alot of time but not difficult.

Yep, it was apk2k6 that did it successfully.

Just run a search for his name and the keyword "dash" and you should find some good info from him when he did it on this car.

Another shameless plug by me though, I have the power window motors, and power lock assemblies so if you're looking for any of it shoot me a PM and maybe we can work out a deal :)
