the music level seems to be getting lower... like i have to turn it up higher now....

if your headunit isnt working that well it might be that...or you could have adjusted to the sound of your setup.

i know your setup couldnt have made your ears deafen, b/c it needs to be higher than like 160+ dBs

in the cold the speed of sound is slower and your speakers don't work as well so that could be an issue.

if your saying that when its cold, that your speakers dont perform as well as there warm.

cold subs/speakers shouldnt be a problem...its when its hot is when you want to watch out.

Although if you were underwater you could hear the sound from farther away with less volume.

But you need to replace your HU, if it is messed up on buttons, etc, you are also probably having problems internally - buy a new one, cheapskate

4 years is pretty good. Maybe it's going bad. I work in repairs and see a lot of them coming in after about that long.

Hearing damage starts at 85 dbs. So if you are listening to your music as loud as I think you are saying, then you are probably hitting over 100 dbs.

i know i was saying 160dbs as a guess or example. but heres a chart to see how high and how fast some things can damage your hearing. i probably listen to my music too loud when i drive, but i also dont listen to it loud for long periods of time and my ears dont ring when i get out.

if you play 100 dbs of treeble or mid feqs you go deaf pretty quick!

but 100db of lows is harder to heard as the ear isnt that sensative at lower feqs !

and if your female then mids an treble at loud volume would make you go deaf quick than men as wemons ear are more senstive to mid and highs!

The more they talk the more they damage their hearing. All the more reason why they should just keep quiet.

my pioneer deck is coming up on 4 years old. and its starting to go out.

every now and again the driver side speakers stop playing, and then they come back on. probably will buy the $70 adapter so i can wire my XM and Ipod directly into the radio via the cd changer plug.
