I need an amp to power my components!

I'm getting the MB Quart Reference RUA216 as posted in the previous thread and I was wondering if the KENWOOD
KAC-7203
would be overkill (170w RMS). It's a really good deal for the amp though.

go with the KAC-X4R from kenwood its an excelon amp, which is there top of the line.

Its a 4 channel amp that puts out 100x4 at 4 ohms and 300 watts when bridged x 2 channels. Get that and run your components off the front two channels and then if you ever get the itch to throw a sub in there you have 300 watts you can give it with the rear channel and you don't need to get a second amp.

God I'd love that but I'm looking for something a bit cheaper; I've already got a deal from a friend for his old bass setup (Alpine V12 digital 600w RMS amp + 2 infinity subs in a custom box for only $300; he got in a wreck and took em out of his car)

you need a 4 channel or a 2 channel if your deadicating that amp to JUST the components. alpine makes great amps ive never had a problem with one and never had a problem installing one. which is why i have 3 :)

It is really nice sounding on my components. I used to run all Alpine in my Jeep but I was really strapped for $ this time so I got the kenwood.

that amp should be fine if your running just the components, if you hook up teh other t youll be at 2ohms (assuming your speakers are 4ohm) a channel and youll be pushing that am to its limits and it might go thermal. dont get me wrong kenwood makes great amps i had one, when we got thier new amps at BBY i was seriously impressed by them, they are very underated this year... i wish i could say the same about thier decks tho

Yeah I wasn't very impressed with their decks either and I was looking for something that supported HD Radio out of the box so I got the JVC KD-HDR1. I really like the sound from this radio plus it has the SRS which makes music sound even better. No distortion even at high volumes. It is running my dash and rear speakers, and I have the amp on my MB Quarts.

I know lol i tried that with my old lightning audio amp and it hated it... I'm running this one at 4 ohms stereo.
