Just get the cheap NGK ones, they are about 1.50 a piece.

Once a year, which for me works out to between 25 000 - 30 000km. Oil changes, I just usually change the oil and rotate the tires. Sometimes gap the plugs (makes the engine a bit quieter at idle). Once a year (usually in the spring) the car gets new plugs, air filter, and PCV. Given the nature of the fuel fitler in the neon, that gets left a lot longer.

Usually u don't have to worry about plug gap with the NGK's. I was going to gap mine just to be safe but when i checked they were already where they needed to be.

The owners manual service sections said about 30k when you should change them.... i did mine at 40k b/c i missed that note in the book, but they were still in good condition when I changed them.

factory gap is .035"
book says to change them at 30000 miles, but a lot of people change them every 15000 miles. i do it every 30000. i use NGK v-power plugs. they are cheap and effective.

i use ngk iridiums. theyre the $hit . according to some guys from NAPA,O'Reilys,AutoZone, and Pep Boys the ngk iridiums are by far a better plug than the bosch platinum 4,and i would agree with them , i get have a smoother idle, throttle response and better top end performance. their a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion

im very surprised you havent had problems with them
the neons ignition system is not fond of single platnum plugs. you should switch to regular copper plugs and change them when you feel like or switch to a double platnum or iridium plug and leave them in there for a while.

if you use synthetic oil there is no reason why you cant go that long.
conventional oil there may be a problem but not synthetic oil. i change mine every 5000 miles and im thinking about upping that to 7500 soon.

Uh, the max change interval in my owners manual is 10 000km (6000mi). When I was commuting back and forth to work it would be absolutely fine on dino oil. Now that I'm harder on the car (shorter runs, barely warming up, mostly city driving) I do them more frequently.
My last car I did 8000km (5000mi) oil changes it's whole life. It's still runs like new at well over 285 000km on the clock.
