Uh, I don't think so. By hollowing out the cat you just removed the restriction.BlackRoseRacing wrote:If you hollow out the cat, make sure you run a straight pipe through it since the hollowed out cat will cause a restriction in the exhaust system just as bad as a stock cat.

actually, IMO BRR makes sense, because if you just hollow the cat, then the exhaust gasses will bounce around inside the larger area and cause turbulence. i dont know if thats a true thing or not, but it makes logical sense...

it does make sense. but i would have to see what the inside of a cat looked like to be certain.

All you get is an empty hollow shell in which you can see from end to end. Where's the restriction there? The exhaust gas will slow down a bit due to expansion in the gutted section, but it will speed up again as it exits.

this too makes sense. i just figured that wiht the change in size of the piping, the airflow may get thrown off because of some turbulence..

ya i used to have this on my car but it cracked when i went over a hard bump... i liked the way it sounded and wanted to reinstall a new one, the only problem was there is no flex pipe on it... does any1 know where i can find this with a flex pipe built into it?

i know the other one u showed us before had a flex in it but didnt have a resonator. is it possible to buy one with both, or is that something that needs to be custom made?
