I'm completely burning out, I think

Post by Chibits12 » Mon Feb 19, 2007 10:08 am

:( School blows right now and I have all these homeworks, papers, that are all due tomorrow. I think all of this time I've been working and schooling is starting to get to me. I'll be going to the doctor's to see if I have some kind of stress issues or whatnot...

Maybe I need some time management skills or maybe I need a vacation. Who knows, maybe I need some coffee :? Maybe I got overzealous taking six classes, that might be the culprit...

It sucks right now but after this rant, I'm gonna try to finish them all today and just stop worrying about minor crap. Hopefully I don't turn into :tardbang: or maybe I already am.

Finished ranting ::logging off::

6 classes at CP is hard.

time management skills are strongly needed. i was feeling the same way spring 06. then i got my internship/co-op and very much enjoyed the time off. i needed a break. i went to school every semester from fall 03 to spring 06.

just plug on and get through it. what classes are you taking?

im in calc 3, physics 2, macroecon and brit lit. calc 3 isnt going to well right now.

I feel similar. A couple nights ago I went insane and was just about ready to drop a couple of my classes. But yanno I realized you just gotta get through this shit because after it when we graduate and start making money and will be able to afford a car and a house we'll know how far we come. Just get your work done so you can go out on the weekends and not have to worry about it when you get home. Getting overwhelmed with school work is a bitch, but just start with the easiest things first, and don't go on the internet, and you'll get it done.

I can say that fully understand being burnt out, though, it never kept me from not working towards my goal of graduation. It sucks, but then sometimes it works out that you lag for a week or two and then get a second wind that allows you to get through the rest of the semeter/quarter... Other times you just gotta do it, and do things on the side that will help you keep you sanity (thats why i'm here alot).

Also remember that spring break is not too far away.

How much longer till you graduate?

good luck yo

I'm doing ok thus far but the thing is it's been just non stop work right now. I get off work to "work" on school work and it's just everyday. Not to mention the part-time jobs I have three days a week and on weekends :( Plus the winter term I took got me little or no break...

Maybe glasswars is right; I need to get off the internet but it's so much fun surfing 2gn.org, ebay, gamepro, etc. :P That's why I'm also here Hansken to keep my sanity, lol.

Racer, I'm taking Law and Economics, International Economics, and Economics on Poverty. Then there's History of Ancient Israel, Personal Finance, and European Art of the late 19th Century. Law and econ's a real bitch to deal with right now.

It's why I hate to see powerpoints, printouts online; it just takes your attention away from what you're supposed to be doing.

It's my last semester so I need to hang in there really bad. Just ranting here made me feel better though since we all had problems like this somehow... Ok back to work :(

I think I do need to get hammered. I haven't done that in a while and I go to school? WTF is wrong with me :?

I'd try after I turn in the papers tomorrow. I'm so poor right now maybe I 'll get some Pabst's Blue Ribbon, lol.

I just wrote out a long reply, only to delete it because it sounded whiny.

Basically, hang in there. College + Work = DIFFICULT but I'd say even more rewarding than living off parents for rent and tuition. I'm doing the same thing and feel your pain.

[edit:] Oh and smoking pot always helps me relieve stress. I wouldn't recommend it before a test or anything though lol.

:with stupid:

I haven't had the liberty of being swapped with school yet since when I went I only took 2-3 classes a week but there have been a few times i've been in similar shoes. Just focus on the end result and don't worry about anything else. Keep telilng yourself it'll be over before you know it and that in time it'll pay off where you'll have a good job makin some nice moolah, family, ect... Life isn't easy, gotta keep pushin on though and concentrate on the end result. Manage your time wisely, don't mess around on the internet b/c that sucks up a bunch of time when it feels like you arent' on very long

I'm such a whiny bastard :P As long as I'm still sane, I'll be ok.

My roommate also a senior was starting to lose it too lol. He didn't do anything for the past week but screw around, skip classes, and party :P

As for stress relief, I go here j/k. I don't have much of a stress reliever besides playing videogames and doodling cars. Yes, it's lame but never really tried any drugs except Tylenol

^^paintball is an awesome stress reliever. It's so nice to go out and shoot someone. You could also work out. You get in shape and you can blow off steam.

I'm in your world. I have a full class load along with some harsh profs and I work at least 30 hours a week. I used to work full time and go to school full time and that was an adventure.

Don't procrastinate at all
Keep a schedule for at least a week ahead
Take breaks while studying
and the best one of all PARTY hard on the weekends!

I do that and I'm quite stress free.
