question i have is, do i need to install this piece of metal again in some place in dash or do i just have to remove it?
Thanks in advance, any input would be appreciated.

That's what I did installing my 4-disc a month ago. The only thing I don't really like is how the back of it isn't supported at all. It just sits on the floor. I put down some sticky felt to at least cushion it a little bit.
