roughly $300 to spend

Post by PHSXT » Wed Feb 21, 2007 12:33 pm

how would you spend it on mods?
I am thinking about these items:
MPx Under Drive Pulley 109.99 ship 6.00
Fidanza Adjustable Cam Gear 129.99 ship 6.00
Vibrant Type V rear strut bar 49.99 ship 8.00

grand total of $309.97

Any suggestions of different equipment i should take into consideration instead of these.

oh yeah my car is a 04 sxt auto

i'd look into picking up a used srt exhaust, just something to let it breath a little bit better.

ditto on the strut bars. my front bar caused my car to shake when i hit 62 mph.

for under $$120, you could probably pick up a decent free-flowing muffler, like a hooker max-flow, and get a custum set-up installed.

MPx UDP..........$110
BRR's 60mm Mustang TB/adapter combo..........(guesstimate)$150
Prothane race motor mounts..........$30

Total = $290

Outa $300 you still got $10 left over so you can buy yourself a fews beers to drink while you install the above said mods.

And if you have another approx. $40, you can buy a tranny mount to top it all off. :D

Best bang-for-your-buck mods, IMO.

MPx throttle body and the Unorthodox fake on ebay. My buddy bought the Fake UDP and it was the same weight and overall design as my real one. Those 2 mods will show a big improvment for little cash

I say take it, put it in the bank, and save it till you have enough to trade in your atx for an mtx rt/acr...

seriously.

ok, now I would do the rear strut tower bar, mpx or megan racing udp (ebay pulley, brr I think has one) and some sways - there are both fronts and rears from an srt4 on the forsale board right now with endlinks. Might be a good start!

so the consensus seems to be that rear sway bars, underdrive pulley, and a 60mm TB seem to be the best bang for the buck with an auto. I would love to have a manual but i would have no idea how to do the swap considering there would have to be a lot of shit changed around.

It is a 2004 Very little HP to be had.

Get rear sway and under drive pulley would be great. I have not got my UDP ordered yet but lots of suspension stuff.

Rear strut bar if you get a larger rear sway (say 22mm) is a big plus. Can not believe how much flex the body must have a had.

with a rear strut tower bar and 22mm sway you might produce more oversteer than you want to - a good solid 19mm is fine with the stb, but instead upgrade to a front sway of 24-26mm (srt4-PT GT, respectively). And a front STB is really not a waste - I notice a huge difference without mine on so I am going to get a new one, soon. If you install it with the car off the ground, and push it out nice and solid, when you set it back down you get a hella stiff front end. I loved it, and miss it.

Of course, my struts may have something to do with it too.

so if i mod it there are no benefits, is that what you are trying to tell me? i just want some faster acceleration, i could care less about running a fast quarter mile or anything like that, mainly i am looking for speed in the 0-60 range, i could care less about anything above that.

I agree Go all out suspension and tear up some twisties

The reasoning is, For one you have an 04 which has been proven time and time again not to respond well to bolt ons. Most wont show any gain in the RPM range of the automatic tranny anyway so they are a waste.

then you want to build torque, not hp.

the udp will help. i have heard the 60mm tb will increase throttle response. suspension stuff is alwyas fun

he is saying that since the auto trans sucks up so much power, its not really worth it too much to put performance parts on the engine.
