MSD DIS 2, tach adapter, and not firing

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

MSD DIS 2, tach adapter, and not firing

Post by GunmetalNeon » Wed Feb 21, 2007 1:34 pm

So I got an MSD DIS 2 and the tach adapter hooked up the other day... I had all the settings shut off... and the car wouldn't start... it is an older DIS 2 it has the switches, not the dials... like I said all the settings were shut off.. it turned over but wouldn't fire... any suggestions? any switches supposed to be switched on for the car to fire?

Either the blue or brown is basically an on/off switch. If it is grounded, the engine will crank but not ever fire because there is no spark. Make sure they are not grounded.

Also make sure you don't have the wires going to the coil pack crossed.
