2 Wires

What do the purple/white wire and the orange wire go to off the stock headunit??

05 SXT, I read on the 04 orange is illum and I hooked it up to the aftermarket HU's illum and now my CEL, airbag light, oil light, and every other light in the dash gauge lights up???

you did buy a harness right? or did you cut off the dodge harness

i will be the first to tell you....never hook up illimination. unless its a eclipse h/u that requires illumination never ever hook up illumination. the wire has been a cause of alot of problems install wise. i dont know why but i have seen sony units fry because of it. i think its mostly cause these units have illumination already in them from your switched 12 volts.

never had a problem when i installed my CDE-9843 in my neon. and i hooked up the illum wire too.

the illuminatio is tricky, its the only wire color that is not standardized, on teh radios its orange/white or orange and on all the aftermarket haness its straight orange, and orange white is the dimmer, you have no idea how many people ive see that hook up the orange/white on the radio to the orange/white on the harness and fry thier radios
