MPx underdrive pulley

Post by racer12306 » Tue Feb 27, 2007 1:29 pm

It says on moderns website that the pulley comes with high quality belts.

Are they actually good belts or should i scrap them and get gates belts?

When I ordered my pulley from them (Unorthodox) they included Dayco belts.

i saw you posted belt sizes elsewhere. i assume there were the ones for you UR pulley were the numbers on the belt or in the instructions somewhere for future reference, or do you know if those belt sizes will work on the MPx pulley?

how do you like the dayco belts?

might have to see how much gates belts are.

I really don't know if they're the same size or not as I haven't looked to see if the pulleys are the same diameter size.

They were outstanding belts but didn't fit since I dont' think they included the right size :-? I dunno what I have on there right now (Dave - FTWNeon) would know though  If it wasn't for one of the belts not fitting (I think alternator I wouldn't have bothered swapping them over to a different brand.

i was just looking at the part numbers you posted and notice that in the gates system, both of those numbers are for v-belts.

i thought the neon had a v-belt and a 3 or 4 rib serp belt.

My pulley came with Dayco belts. The only belt-related problem I've had is them squeeling but that was my fault... I didn't tighten the alternator belt enough. :tardbang: lol

But yeah, that was my fault. Other than that, good belts... no problems at least not yet *knocks on wood*

Dayco and Gates are both good brands.

ok

didnt know about daycos, but i knew gates were arguably the best you could buy.

i made the mistake of getting cheap v-belts for my monte, if you think you got it bad on the neon i had 4 or 5 belts on the monte. they squeeled like a pig getting "attacked" by a farmer.
