Magnum = VVT?
I am a dodge lover, but I dont know much about the R/T or ACR. So if everyone could enlighten me on what exactly the "magnum" is? Obviously we are talking about a SOHC, so it would kind of be like a SOHC VTEC (d16), in the sense of its on the "intake cam"?
Please someone elaborate for me!

????
what?
sorry, dont think I understand either the answer or the question... but on the magnum engine what you have get are several differences in amount of airflow through the head. The secondaries that open up allow more air into a more freer flowing head and out through a higher flowing exhaust. AND it has a higher compression (on 03+) than the standard neon engine.

There is no Vtec, VVTi, VCT, or anything of that sort on a Magnum engine. The differences between the Magnum and the std SOHC are the active intake manifold, larger exhaust port diameter, exhaust header (over std manifold), and more agressive ignition timing thus requiring 91 octane.

the intake on the magnum has been dyno proven (someone on the other .org did it)... also, with the butterflies open from 3k-5k rpm
(when thy are usually closed) shows no gain and actually some loss in tq/hp... compared to the stock piece, it is an upgrade, and when matched to the mag head it is a nice combo...
I dunno about the acura's (what year is your teg?? I wanna see pics!!!).

The intake, cam, timing, compression, exhaust, and the head port are about the biggest differnces.
Here is a picture of the magnum head compared to stock heads: Notice how there is not even enough material on the stock neon head to remove to get close to a STOCK magnum head.

But this is no GS-R, and no Acura. Adding this manifold to a non mag engine is good for a little pickup in the midrange.
Oh yeah, the compression is only higher to the normal soch on 03+ engines, 02 and below all sochs/mags are 9.8's.
