Hes saying that because the auction says they're CLK style lights, but calls them "altezza" tail lights. Those who know, know the Toyota Altezza is one car with a particular style of tail light, and the CLK is totally different car with a different style of tail light.

But to the original poster, common dood, youre stationed in Germany, you should know that the Kompressor is a C230, not a CLK. lol

actually MBZ has supercharged or "kompressor" models available for many other engines including the 6 (the same engine 3.5L chrysler uses in their srt-6) and 8 cylinder (for example - 5.5L in the SL55 AMG) not to mention the twin-turbo SL65 AMG 6.0L V12 that makes 604hp/738lb-ft tq @ 2000rpm through a 7-speed automatic...yummm

I know they make other cars/models with boost, but "kompressor" specifically refers to the supercharged engines, not the turbocharged ones, like the ones you mentioned. And the CLK line does not include any supercharged, or turbocharged engine options.

And yes, Id kill for a CL65 AMG. Probably one of the only non-trucks Id ever want to own.

sorry i put 3.5L, but its still the supercharged engine that the srt-6 shares. and i never said that ALL models had the "kompressor" option. and yes, the "kompressor" on the four-banger is the SLK230. i think the new hatchback-ish creation of the C-class (?) has the 2.3L Kompressor engine as well.

You might be right as to what they offer in the states, but I have seen many many many CLK and SLK models of kompressor's here. The kompressor CLK 200 for instance only has 163 hp.

well, here in america we dont have access to as many cars/engines as germany and the rest of europe do, ie: NON-boosted "kompressor" mercedes and the wide array of turbo-diesels that bmw puts out.

in europe though many engines are quite small and underpowered just for fuel economy reasons ($5/gal = BS) ie.... a 5-series bmw with a 2.0L engine (i think i saw a 520i when i was in grand cayman, for example)

The 2.0 liter motor your talking about is a huge inline 6. It takes 6 quarts of oil and about 2 full jugs of antifreeze just like mine does. It really amazes me, the size of the motor for such small pistons.

Luckily I don't have to pay european prices for gas over here, otherwise it would be about $5 or more a gallon. We get reimbursted through gas coupons. I am going to miss 98 octane though when I leave next year.

acutally...the C230 has a 1.8L Supercharged 4 cylinder...why they call it a 230, i dont know...but its only a 1.8

the SLK 230 had the same thing as the C230. you're thinking of the SL32 AMG that had a supercharged 3.2L V6 (which is what is in the crossfire SRT-6).

what he said.

the SLK320 had the 3.2 NA V6 that makes 215 HP (base engine for the Crossfire)
