SRT4 exhaust on a '00 Neon: will it fit
Title says it all. Will a SRT4 exhaust fit a 2000 model Neon? Will it fit the bumper, do I need to modify piping or the way it hangs? In other words, is it a direct bolt-on? Thanks!

Yes it'll fit, same hangers and all, you may need an adapter but you may not seeing that you have a 2000 which some 2000s came with 2.25" piping.
Fitting with the bumper, you may need the bend the hangers a little bit to hang below the bumper or cut the bumper for the tips to fit into.
Direct bolt on... for the most part yes. Sounds like pooo IMO though

Yep it fits....Augh the sound leaves a bit to be desired.... I own a SRT-4 and a 01 ES. The SRT-4 exhaust on the 01 fits without any adaptors since I used the lead pipe as well as the rear section. The sound is terrible at 3000rpm...It buzzes. My solution was to install a borla 2 1/4 muffler in place of one of the resonators from the SRT . This is better but I seem to think the car has lost low end torque and it needs all that it can get. My solution... SRT motor....Muhahha.... Good luck! Just remember this is how it starts...LOL

If you've got 2" pipe (like mine did) you'll need to do some cutting and fitting to get it hooked up to the cat. Elsewise, the entire thing bolts right up.
With a big glasspack in the center it sounds pretty good. Under heavy load and high RPM it resonates a fair bit, but for 98% of driving I really like mine.

For the non-RT Neon get the Magnum exhaust, for the RT, leave it as it is.

I have the largest glasspack I could find on it. 31"fixitmattman wrote:If you've got 2" pipe (like mine did) you'll need to do some cutting and fitting to get it hooked up to the cat. Elsewise, the entire thing bolts right up.

It has a NICE tone... really deep, no rasp, a good crackle to it. But the sound level is a bit too damn much. I can here it drone in the cabin, and I can only imagne what people around my car think, haha.
My solution.... I'm adding sound dampener in the inside so I can't hear it.
Added weight FTW!!

unfortunately my stock exhaust is going to blow a sizeable hole any day now. the reason i asked is if i deicde to go aftermarket, there seem to be more options for srt's than r/t's. so if an srt exhaust will fit (bolt in) to the stock space i may try out one of the srt options.LCPLPunk wrote:For the non-RT Neon get the Magnum exhaust, for the RT, leave it as it is.

In the muffler or some of the other piping?
Honestly, for hte price/quality of the RT muffler, just use that.
U can get the SRT system for cheap, but it sounds like crap.
