SRT4 FRONT END

Post by partyboy1122 » Fri Mar 09, 2007 12:35 am

OK, I know this has been asked numerous times. I just spent 2 hours reading up on this for my 00 neon and i keep getting different answers.

Has anyone recently did a 00 to srt4 front end conversion?
If so, can we get the exact details on it.

Im going to have my stock 00 hood, will that be a problem?
I do not plan on installing fog lights also.
Will the bumper and headlights bolt right up to the 00 neon?
Clarify this for me please.

ok i can clarify this for you for the most part

1. You will need the 03+ SRT Front bumper AND you will need 03+ Headlights

2. If you use a NON - srt4 hood your hood will not be the right size and you will have a gap

3. Yes the Bumper and Headlights will bolt right up.. just need the right ones

4. You will also need to do something with your windsheild washer fluid bottle.. either mod it yourself by heating it up and make it smaller to fit behind the bumper, or get a SRT washer bottle...

i think that is about it..

Ok, im picking up an srt4 front bumper and 03+ healights....

so i still have to reduce the size of the washer bottle?

and the non srt4 hood leaves a gap? does anyone have pictures of what it will look like on a 00 neon? I seen that girls on cardomain, but she has the srt4 hood.

the gap between the hood and bumper is only about 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch. its not all that bad. cant even tell from a distance.

It's the other way around, your hood will be hard to close, as the hood sticks out about 9/16" longer than the SRT hood.

The gap happens when you use an SRT hood on a stock bumper.

See the gap?

I can't find any pics of the opposite, but when you put a regular Neon hood on an SRT bumper, it hits the bumper.

see, that shows the gap of an SRT hood with a non SRT bumper, the gap is different with an SRT bumper and a non SRT hood. let me find a pic that shows the gap of that....

look at the center of the bumper, between the 2 nostrils, the hood is about a 1/2-3/4" too short, its not that noticable though.

here's a good example on my car closer up, see that the SRT-4 hood is a bit shorter that the stock hood? - stock hood will overlap the SRT-4 bumper. hope this helps - ryan

Nope... now what so ever... You just take off your stock hood and replace it with the srt one... Might need some help with making sure it's aligned right...

O yea... that black neon with the srt hood is very hawt
