Firebird Tip Side Exit Exhaust??? Yay or Nay??

Post by z3roneo » Sun Mar 11, 2007 8:33 pm

Gotta a Firebird Tip from a friend today and we wanted to see how it would look as a side exit.... (excuse the roll of tape that's holding it up)

If I do use this tip, I'm gonna notch the pinch weld just a bit so the tip sits flush to the r/t sides...

So whatcha peeps think?? Should I get'er done or look for another tip??

I think the style and location looks great. Will the tip clean up any better than that though? Looks kinds corroded, but maybe it's just dirt. Anyway, I give it a

Same here I really dont like how that looks I'd much rather have the dual out back with either twin tip off to one side or the two RT style ones.

looks good to me.

maybe do dual side exit, one on each side. might be too much though.

i dont think the carbon will be much of a problem because the entire car including the wheels are black.

Hmmm... yea the tip will get cleaned up if i decide to use it or not.... not worried bout carbon... Like the side exit cuz it's pretty much the old school look...

I also like the dual slash tip on the side like so....

the fuel lines run along the other side of the car, wouldnt be a good idea to run exhaust pipe over them, lol

forgot about those pesky fuel lines.

maybe some heat wrap would keep the temps under control.

i like it, find another and go dual.

There is a guy with a ghetto'd up side exhaust on an srt in my area. You just have to learn to do it right.

i was thinking about doin something like this with my 1st gen. I think it looks awesome. But my car sits too low, and with 3" piping coming out from under the side of the car...i dont know if it would work too well..

anyways...i say go for it.

i think it looks good man. it's your call in the end though. just make sure it's aligned right, if it's not it would definitely take away from the look. although i do like the dump too.

p.s, i see you're running the CLK style tails...did you have any fitment issues? do they fit nice and flush? i'm thinking about getting some for the R/T this summer to finish off the back end. thanks dude.

happy modding.
