Body and painting question..

Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

How fine should i sand my bodykit before i send it out to be painted? I have done up to wet 600 by hand and it is feeling VERY smooth. is 600 fine or should i up it to wet 1000?

Is it already in primer? If its just the gel coat I would say youve gone too far already. I dont like to spray primer on anything more than 400 wet, otherwise the surface is just too smooth for the primer to bite into. Hell, I only use 600 wet for sanding the primer before base coat goes on even. Ive never used finer paper until color sanding or cutting the clear.

Ya...well ill stop at wet 600 for now and ask the guy that is going to paint it what he thinks.

BTW the kit was Solar yellow and im sanding and preping for my Electric blue to go on.
