Dane Cook's latest special was total shit. His last two CDs were stellar but the Boston special and that horrific TV show was painful to sit through.
There are many, many, many good comedians out there. The list is pretty extensive because there are alot of fantastic comedians that just don't put themselves out there in the public eye as much as the high dollar getters but that doesn't make them any worse of a joke teller/story teller.
Go buy "The Aristocrats". Everyone in that movie deserves more credit than they get on top of what they all ready get. Not because of that joke but because 80% of them are alot funnier than they most people know. Plus there are so many up and comers that have been grinding it out for 10 years or more and just haven't broke yet or work behind the scenes...Greg Fitzsimmons comes to mind. He really is fantastic but tours over 200 days a year.
Comedy Central really keeps alot of awesome and deserving comedians afloat like Greg Geraldo, Dave Attel, Lisa Lampanelli...pretty much anyone that shows up to their annual roasts are great examples.
I have been into stand up comedy since I was 9 years old sneaking down stairs at 11pm in the dark to watch A&E's Evening at the Improv. LOL. I have mad respect for how they try so hard to make it and do what they love day to day and not work the regular 9-5 at the office.

i dont remember which special i watched, but i laughed my ass off. so if i was watching the boston one, then i guess i would have died laughing at his other ones.
i forgot about the blue collar team, some of the stuff gets a little repetitive, but its still pretty good.
i also forgot about louis black, talk about a liberal comedian.

Titus is fucking HILLARIOUS in person. I caught him while I was home from Iraq the first time. He and I went back and forth bout how the AF is better than the Army yada yada. I'm a dry guy myself so it was great to stick it to the comedian at a club
He's one of my all time fav's
No one's said Bill Hicks yet though... Whats up with that? His stuff was GREAT before he passed.
I would SOOOO love to be a stand up comedian but I don't think I could do the I just flew in from Chicago and boy are my arms tired kinda routine. If there was a college for it though... I'd be all over it.
