"Ambient" Lighting Installed

Post by glasswars » Thu Mar 15, 2007 8:27 pm

So after all the trouble of getting my LED's from http://www.oznium.com (even though it was completely my fault lol) I finally got them.

These are the "Super4chip" which are 4 LED's in one and have a very wide viewing angle.

It came with a foot of wire, I took out the bottom pocket and drilled a hole in the top and stuck it there, ran the wiring to the factory dimmer, looks mad OEM. I can't wait to drive tomorrow night.

And before anyone says "they don't match your gauges" I'm doing my gauges blue, and the odometer red, so hush.

Thanks, and yeah thats my Alpine iPod head unit below the HVAC. I was adjusting the cameras shutter for the LED not the head unit so the head unit came out overexposed, haha.

Looks very good :) Which color wire did you tap into? The orange dimmer wire for the radio?

Looks very good. I did very similar except I put mine in the bottom of each of those little coin holder pieces between the cup holders lol Also if you want a cool effect, get some more leds and put 3 in the cup holder right by your armrest/centerconsole lid. You should be able to fit 3mm leds in the little recesses(3) on the outer walls. Insert bottle of water or other beverage with a clear bottle and itll work like a lil lamp lol Ill get a pic when i can.

Ya everyone I tapped into the orange dimmer that goes to the radio, and the black for the ground. Thanks for the compliments.

That sounds really cool. I'll mess around tonight cause it's snowing and I can't take the Neon anywhere without sliding around the world.

It's not that hard.. it's not really distracting, especially since it's red and not blue/green.

It looks good...does it stay on when you want it to or does it cut off when the lights dim off?

It goes on with the lights(parking, headlights). Dim's with them (if you dim your gauges). When I get bored/annoyed with it I'll wire it to a switch to use it when I want.
