r/t exhaust adapter

ok i want to put an r/t exhaust on my 05 sxt i was wondering what do's this adapter looks like can someone post a picture of it. im just wondering what it looks like and do's the dodgeparts.com one come with it or should i go with http://www.dodge-auto-parts-dealer.com/ because theres comes with adapter. i have searched for it no results what im looking for.

huh? adapter? the r/t exhaust should bolt right up in place of your old one. i dont know of this adapter that you speak of? unless if its off a 1st gen or something?

Pretty sure it just bolts right to old piping.

i was wondering because on dodge parts a guy on the reviews said you needed a adapter to make it work on a sxt. https://www.dodgeparts.com/product_revi ... 9befe5c16c see read that i typed that number in at dodge parts nouthing came up.

checked wholesalemopar.com and its an adapter exhaust. no illustration though.

if your using a r/t exhaust from a 2nd gen, then it all bolts up. no adapter needed.

oh! o2 sensor input maybe? R/T's have 2 o2 gromets on the cat pipe, regular sohc's have one on the manifold, one on the cat pipe.

The "Adpater" is just a reducer to allow the R/T muffler to clamp onto the SXT exhaust system. This can be picked up at any autoparts store for around $5

Yes it is just a simple muffler reducer. Most people do not realise that the RT neon actually came with full 2 1/4 piping. It contains no taper like the sxt and even srt midpipes have. An RT muffler will not bolt up to the stock midpipe without it.
