What did I buy?

Post by NoHemi » Wed Mar 21, 2007 10:05 pm

Recently bought an '02 MTX and I'm not sure what package (ES, SXT, etc.) it is, and knew you guys would be able to help me out.
The car has PW, PDL, PM, Tach, AC, Fog Lights, no Cruise. When I bought it it had aftermarket hub caps so I'm not sure what wheels came on it. Thanks in advance.

This is amusing, you bought a car but don't know what you bought.

i vote SE because the SXT had replaced the ES in 2002. SXT's came with the 15" aluminum wheel, and the SE's still came with 14" steelies, maybe 15" steelies as well

My 01 SE had 14'' steelies no options.
Call up your local Dodge dealer, give them the VIN and they will let you know.

I vote SXT because of the tach.

SE, SXT, ES, R/T, and ACR were all avalible trim levels in 2002.

no, but no car with a tach came with steel wheels that I know of. SE's would not have had a tach. So either SXT or ES assuming they are factoy steelies. I dunno...

I think:

If it had 14" hubcaps, it's a 2002 SE
If it had 15" hubcaps, it's a 2002 ES
Later on if you have 15" snowflakes, it's a 2002 SXT
If it had 16" BBS like wheels w/ sideskirts and 2.0 Magnum decal, it's an R/T

First of all to fixitmattman, I didn't buy the car new, so I don't see why it's so "amusing" picked it up for a daily commuter and parked my truck. Just trying to learn a bit more about the car and thought that only certain models had certain options which is why I listed the options. It's still a mystery because as I mentioned the hubcaps were aftermarket so I'm thinking whatever wheels it had were pulled before it went to the car lot. It also has adjustable springs on the back and an obnoxiously loud stainless muffler on it so obviously someone has been playing around with it.
The vin link stated: Series: EX/LX/EXT, did not get model specific.
I forgot to mention it also has a spoiler (if that matters). Any ways thanks all for the help.
