Chatroom

When the site went down, I noticed a lot of people used the chatroom. I wonder if there should be like a permanent link at the homepage below the shoutbox? Like, "Chatbox: Feel like chatting? Enter here" or something like that.

Just curious since it's such a nice feature that's rarely used.

I liked the chat room as well, it was nice getting to just chat with people...and yeah, a permanent look would be good too.

Dang... I missed everyone being online? Gone onto the chat a few times but noone was there. Good idea to put a quick link on the page.

At one point I think I actually did have a direct link to a chat system. It wasn't the one that mike hosts but it wasn't another one that was hosted on the 2GN server. The problem was that hardly anyone used it.... ever

If people think they'll use it then I'd consider it again...

I looked back at past threads concerning chat rooms and it seems like people aren't using it a lot. Only if there's a way for people to use it more...

People only use it when they can't use 2gn. When 2gn is up it's essentially a big organized chat room.

im in it right now. no ones ever on! we should have scheduled times for meetings and shit that way everyone can plan for it and we can actually have a live convo. that would be fun

Yeah, it'd be neat if we could get organized chats going on. Maybe have like a Turbo Tech Time or something and getting all the educated turbo guys on there at a time and let people that are considering a turbo project ask questions about swap or builds, etc...

Something like that.

yeah thats pretty much what I was thinking. or just a diagnostic chat, something pre determined. Since we're all on different time zones we would have to either split it up or try to find a universal time that works for everyone. make it happen mike, you got the powa! haha

Mike, if you don't want to host that anymore let me know and I can throw it up on the 2GN server to free up some space for you if hosting that still is a problem.

you guys should get the chatroom link up at the top of the forum main page so people can hit it up straight from 2gn. that would make things easier and promote traffic on in the chatroom.

honesly, I'd never use it. We just have chats in 90% of the threads anyways.

I was thinking it would be a great way for members to have discussions live, like when someone is doing an install and maybe they need some help or some info. I know ive needed to talk with someone asap when doing things with the car and would love the ability to bypass a slow thread-format discussion in exchange for a live chat. Just an idea. It could be kinda like the "live help" deal that a lot of retail sites use nowadays.

If it was really accessable (sp) people would indeed use it. Just have the URL link of 03sxt's posted at the top somewhere and put Chatroom real big above it. How hard is that?

^thats how I had it for awhile, but I got rid of it cuz no one was ever on. The idea is to promote the use of the chatroom. I bet 75% of our members dont even know it exists.
