Should I go with 185/65/14 or 195/65/14?

Post by LCPLPunk » Fri Mar 23, 2007 4:53 pm

Hey guys,

Need some new tires for my RT and i'm debating on the 185/65/14's, or the 195/65/14's.

Which one should i go with?

Will the 195's be too tall?

Will the 185's not have good grip?

Lemme know!

didn't that car come with the 16 inch wheels?

I had 14 inch 185's on my 00 neon and it did really good it all conditions. It didn't have near as much power as your car does but it handled itself well.

Ya, i've got 185/65/14's on there now, but i've heard the 195's are better with traction and ride comfort.

And yes, it did come with 16's, i just don't want to pay 100 a tire.

P185/65R14 is a stock Neon size which is what I run

205/60R14 is an option if you want wider tires. That would be the same size over all just wider.(At least the same as my stock P175/70R14 tires).

Tire Rack as Traction TA's at 69 Bucks and Yoko AVS at 81. So other options as well.

I'd be running Kumho's, they are only about 45 a piece and have great ratings.

I thought the 195's would be the same height as the 185's, but a guy at a tire shop said that the middle number wasn't the height, it was the aspect ratio, so the tire would be a little taller.
