Changed Mtx fluid(PN 4874465)....Do i have to worry???

Hi guys, as the title says...i did it last night, i found that old fluid was very dark and had some little pieces of metal too.

Shifting now is improved and smooth too

I guess this is a must for all 03-05 Mtx owners here, i just wanted to share pics with you guys and ask if i have to worry about metal pieces i found in fluid.

I drained like 2.2qt and was just able to put in 2qt...

after driving it for a while, check it some more for the proper level - I had mine replaced completely after getting my driver side axle replaced, and they guy put in 2.6 qts.

usually it is normal to find small metal shavings in the tranny or almost dust like metal shavings in there. especially when the fluid is old and black like that. it is usually a result from normal wear on the clutch/flywheel and internals. however small chuncks can sometimes result in some type of tranny damage. in your case it might not be something to worry about since there isnt a lot. im sure if it is driving fine still then it should be ok and nothing to worry about. those were msot likely little chunks that broke off the clutch or something. like i said though if you dont really notice or feel anything after a while then it should be fine, and those chunks were most likely a result of average wear and tear on the tranny parts. do you drive the car hard at all or grinded gears and stuff like that?

i would think parts of the gear teeth or synchro material

thanks by replies, no, i use car as a daily driver and only and maybe once a month take it to drag racing

.... she has only 32kmiles.

that's what i think, maybe some synchros or gear teeth

Car drives fine till now...before changing fluid shifting was hard but now is a lot better

replaced booger bushings too .

I checked proper level today....and yes, it took a half qt more!

How could the level just move down its not like it can burn off or anything i mean shouldnt it just be the same as when you first filled it unless you have a leak somewhere?

When i did fluid change car was raised on jackstands, that's why fluid level wasn't accurate. A few days later in a leveled surface i did check level and still could throw in a half qt more.
