yeah, but their biggest mistake was to dump the 7.3L for the 6.0, and now the 6.4.
the 6.0 cost them A LOT of money is warrenties.

Just like the Dodge Viper on Top Gear melting the sideskirt from the exhaust pipe. Every car has their oops's.

its very real
ford has issued a recall on all 08 trucks with the 6.4l that were build prior to march 9, 2007.
also it was ticking pretty damn loud. i saw this over on a cummins website, everyone is making fun of ford now. their diesel program is just a joke right now, with all the problems from the 6.0 and now this.

it wont be long when ford will be switching to cummins, its just a rumor. was suppose to happen in 2009-2010. they are practically giving up on the powerstroke made by international.

Not GM, lately they've been using Isuzu based diesels.
The 7.3 PSD just before they canned it for the 6.0 was an indestrucatble engine

it was very recent that i read it. i doubt it was gm though because of all their success with the duramax.
i understand they needed more power, but i dont see why they effed it up so bad with the 6.0

Ford and International might be spliting up. Ford is going to sue International because of warrenty costs on the 6.0l... so Ford may be producing their own diesel.
No matter to me, by the time that happens, Ill have my 7.3l.

It probably does have something to do with the exhaust filter thing. Diesel emissions = suck.

well diesel are cleaner that regular gass in a way.
since they use half the fuel for the same distance
My second car is a 1996 opel corsa diesel 1.7
which gives me approx 55-60 mpg
http://www.autoweek.nl/autotest.php?id=80
0-60 in 2 days though

i wouldnt say cleaner, yes they use less fuel but many of the older ones are a bit dirty.
look at some of the smoke that comes out of them, and the black soot that "paints" the cars.

for 16-wheelers yes, but diesel engines in cars have come
a long way the last 10 to 15years.
Look at vw tdi engines for instance.
