Lorenzo 60mm TB
Lorenzo 60mm TB
One of my favorite mods. I honestly don't know or care if it adds any power. The instant throttle response you get makes it worth the money. Its pretty straight forward to install. You might want to get slightly larger couplers where the intake attaches to the inlet of the TB because its decently larger than stock.
Judging my gains of TB's on 1st gens i'm sure they make some power.

I have been very pleased with my TB from Lorenzo. Well worth the money. I also did feel a bit of an increase in power. I highly recommend it to any second gen owner who is serious about getting the best performance from their car.

Strange code... have you checked the voltage on the TPS and/or the MAP sensor? Seems they aren't matching up for some reason. You can check the TPS voltage with the car's ignition in the ON position. Hook up a voltmeter and open the butterfly plate by hand and the voltage should increase. Should be right around 3.80 at WOT position.dvgRT wrote:I love the way mine looks, I just wish it would stop throwing code P0068, Lorenzo and I are stumped so if anyone has any idea's.........I NEED HELP! please
I don't know how to check the MAP voltage though, I've yet to have to do that.

Love my LFS TB too. I also had my lower intake mani modified for 2 3/8ths inch ID pipe, which is prettu much the exact size of the AEM pipe. Worked out great. The sound of my seccondaries is actually even louder now

My 03 RT gets the same code. Checked voltages they are almost dead on. Seems to be something with the PCM. I've given up my is for sale. Real nice piece tho, too bad the d__n codes wont stop.Jackrabbit wrote:Strange code... have you checked the voltage on the TPS and/or the MAP sensor? Seems they aren't matching up for some reason. So let me get this straight...you are selling your TB, just because it throws a code? If I avoided any performance modifications that didn't agree with the PCM, I'd still have a 90% stock motor.
Come on, people. If your car is throwing codes, it won't necessarily hurt your car. In most cases, it won't hurt anything at all. If you don't like looking at the little yellow engine light on the dash, then take the damn thing out. Like me. If you guys are even slightly serious about getting real performance from your car, then you need to stop giving a shit about that damn CEL. I get so annoyed when I see people say, "I had to get rid of it because of a code." Sorry for the tangent, but I think it's stupid.

Well i sold mine too cause of the code, it caused my car at 116km/h to go into safe mode and slow down in a hurry! Got tired of crusing on the Highway under 116km/h!JeremyJ wrote:So let me get this straight...you are selling your TB, just because it throws a code? Well, your car is a 2003 and it runs a different type of PCM than the previous years. Maybe yours responds differently, for whatever reason. My car is throwing all sorts of codes, but it runs fine-a little rich, maybe-but fine. Maybe my car is a freak...I don't know. I do know that a CEL doesn't mean that the engine is going to die and most of the time, everything is fine. If your car goes into "safe" mode or "limp" mode, then yes...you have a problem.
I just don't want to see people freaking out about that damn light.

Finally got my Lorenzo throttle body installed last week. I have to barely touch the gas on post now (speed limit is only 20 mph) or the car wants to jerk me into my seat. I got to open her up yesterday on the autobahn down into switzerland. I love the power gain, and I can't get over how dam smooth it runs now. My father-in-law who is a retired army avionics guy, is blown away with the workmanship. He was impressed with the use of nylon inserted aircraft nuts, and I should display it instead of install it. This mod is a definite must have for cold air intake owners. You wouldn't believe how small of a bottleneck your stock throttle body really is, the lorenzo dwarfs it.

I have the MPx TB and I can't fully compare the two since I've never had the Lorenzo TB. I can tell you that from reading several posts that the Lorenzo TB has a problem of the RPMs not falling back to around 1,000 when pressing the clutch in and coasting. You also have to modify the throttle cable bracket so you can properly install it on the Lorenzo TB. There might be more issues, but these are the two that I think of right away.
On the MPx TB the RPMs fall back down like they do with the stock TB and you do not have to modify anything to make it fit.
BTW, I'd mention the CEL some have seen on their 03 R/Ts after installing the Lorenzo but I have not heard anything about if the MPx also causes the same thing or not since the MPx is a fairly new release so I can't say that the MPx is better or worse in the aspect.
Here is my review of the MPx TB:

I only had to cut a small tab off the throttle cable bracket. It was no big deal, not sure what it's purpose was anyway. As far as the rpm's falling, it's only a matter of adjusting a screw on the body, just like on the aftermarket carb on my truck.

installed a 60mm lorenzo today. i picked it up used. it was an easy install and the only problem that i have is the throttle has a sticking point just when you begin to press the accelerator. my coasting idle is fine and it idles at 1000-1100 when i come to a stop. after sitting for approx 5 sec it drops to 800. i have only driven it a few miles so the computer hasn't had a chance to relearn yet. we'll see how things go after that. just putting in my .02.

I have never had a problem with the throttle sticking on me. If you didn't cut the metal tab off the bracket it WILL cause the wheel and cable to stick. Just turn the throttle under the hood and feel where the tab is that's causing your problem. Remove the throttle body and the black bracket and cut the tab off with a grinder or hack saw. Reinstall.

tab is already gone. i'll mess around with it somemore today to see if i can find where the problem is. it isn't something that i can't live with as it is. it may easily be that the lorenzo spring is much stiffer than the stock one. i'll find out later. i'll also post regarding gains once the computer has done it's thing.

Try adjusting the throttle stop screw. You probably just need to open it up a hair and it'll stop sticking. I had to do that to mine initially and again when the weather got cold. I just opened mine enough to where it didn't stick, not enough to affect idle in any way that I noticed.

just to update on my experience with the 60mm tb. there aren't any huge changes. i have noticed an increased throttle response and possibly a sotp dyno increase in the midrange. nothing grossly significant however. i do love the way it looks. i think i am running into the limitations of the stock intake manifold. i would think that the magnum manifold flows a little better and you'd find better gains. anybody else have anything to add?
ooh...there's a glimmer of the dream left!!!
i just installed my LFS 60mm the otherday (got it off a 03 R/T that was getting traded in for an ACR-4) i also installed a ICEMAN intake, not sure which gave the most gains but together its a nice package. when i hit 5k and the runners open up.. the exhaust note changes and oh my does it sound loverly
