I wanna get a Maddog 72% shifter!!!!

Post by supertrick_05 » Thu Apr 05, 2007 8:40 pm

I found this video on YouTube, shows the stock SRT shifter vs the Maddog 72% shifter...I didn't know how much it would actually change! It's phenominal!

There's barely any throw at all in the 72! It was like night and day! How much did you get yours for?

short shift shifters are the main reason why so many people miss shifts in races.....it's to tight and no room for error. i shift faster without a short throw shifter than people do with them...that's just my opinion...never been a fan of them...

Ive gotten so used to my mopure sts that I kinda want to take it a bit further. mines only somewhere around 45% reduction, as per mopures specs. How exactly do they rate the reduction? My shift sure isnt much larger than that 72 in the video. looks about the same.

Eh, got a Mopar STS...the 72 and 80 seemed a bit TOO small for me. Hope to install it within a few weeks.

I had the Mopar one and hated it. The hurst is great but without the solid cradle bushings its to close to the floor

I dunno, my opinion of the 72% has changed alittle. I'm kinda with J-villa now. After trying it at the drag strip, it 's very easy to mis-shift and just grind gears. But then I don't redline shift too much anyway.

you shouldn't have to shove... It should just go into the next gear.

For second, I just pull back with my fingers, third I push with the palm of my hand, let it go to neutral in between third and fourth on it's own, push into third, then pull back with my fingers for fourth. No effort at all, altho I think I'm losing second's syncro, starting to get a bit tough to shift smoothly. This is with a mopar sts.

Compared to the stock shifter in my '04 Dodge Ram the Neon's shifter with a shorter shift knob and booger bushing feels like a STS to me, LOL. I can't imagine having a shorter throw. Guess I'd have to try one to feel the difference but I'm pretty happy with mine the way it's set up.
?You know what the difference between me and you really is? You look out there and see a horde of evil, brain eating zombies. I look out there and see a target rich environment.?
