Criminals have found an old locksmith technique to break into your house with little to no effort and leave NO trace of forced entry...

It's called Lock Bumping.

After seeing several news reports about it online on youtube, etc...i had to see it for myself

Cost of breaking into my house house: $3.15 for a blank key and a file...

You can find all the video's you want online...but ill show you myself how fast it really is and how UNSAFE you really ARE!

http://www.srt-4store.com/images/lockbumping.wmv

FYI: if you want a lock that cant be "bumped". Check out Medeco locks or Schlage Primus locks... those are "bump proof". Normal Schlage locks ARE NOT...my front door is a normal Schlage...

FYI: It's more than certain that your insurance company may deny your claim if you're a victim of lock bumping becuase the theif leaves NO SIGNS AT ALL of forced entry...

FYI: THAT WAS ME BREAKING INTO MY OWN HOUSE!

its a real threat...and although i know some of the worse people will inevitably learn...its better that the public knows about it and knows how to avoid it...

very very simple to do. i watched my locksmith at work doin it one day when he had to cut keys for a suite that he didn't have codes for. took him about 20 minutes to FILE new keys for @7 offices. i was so intrigued i asked him how to do it. after a 5 minute instructional period, i can now do it as well. very handy in completing work tickets quickly.... had the vid poster taken a couple more minutes to file the correct cuts a bit more, the screwdriver wouldn't even have been necessary to turn the lockset.

Edit: wasn't knocking the vid poster, i know he was doing it for instructional purposes to demonstrate how simple it really is.

yeah well if you file down the key enough you can also get it to open dors cars and even start cars i used to work for a car repo company and thats how i would tow cars that where locked or placed in a position where the car could not be taken all you need is a key from the maker of the car like a ford key for a mustang or a chevy key for a siverado and file it down enough to make it turn so you kinda have universal keys

If he tries it on someone elses then when he gets caught(he will its kind of obvious when somebody is standing at a door trying the key every few seconds) I can almost guarantee you that he watched the video or whatever and went right to google the information is out there why is it your or my responsibility to try to protect people from themselves? If this guy is a dumbass we will see a "My night in Jail" post in a few days if not nothing bad happened.
Please tell me this site isnt about to come to overzealous moderation like so many others?
Overzealous moderation my ass. What you posted was stupid kid. I recommend you take it down, or I hope an "overzealous" moderator takes it out. If someone on here uses that to break into a house, and then says "i learned it from 2gn.org" you could get in trouble, and so could Jason for leaving it up there.

EDIT: Thanks for taking it out.

Yes that is why I felt it was unnecessary to take it seriously anymore. I asked a question, most of the forums I visit seem to be taking themselves too seriously now for some reason I hope that this will not become one.

Jerry: You old fuck(its rude when people insult you because of your age isnt it). Again I say what I originally said was not intended to be taken seriously, I hadnt even watched the video when I posted it, granted I have filed keys to get into cars at school before(shop cars at the teachers request) Allow me to say there are some seriously fucked up things said on this site in the attempt of humor and they for the most part are left alone why was this different. Had I been detailed enough that you could actually make it work from what I said you would have a point, I told him to get a key and a file and that he would be arrested in what way is that a breaking and entering how to?

Either way its gone everybody is happy now

Glad you got rid of it, I'm almost proud of you, son. Go ahead and call me an "old fuck" this "old fuck" sure knows a lot more than your silly young ass. It sounds retarded calling a 22 year old guy an "old fuck" doesn't it, kiddo? Although you read everything online you still have a lot of real world things to learn, remember that. BTW, I'm not making this personal, I would have called anyone a dumbass kid that posted that little 3 step process.

I dont need you to be proud of me, I removed it to prevent the thread going off topic.
